  • Ever open a jar?

    Turn on a light switch?

    Use a doorknob?

    If you answered YES, then you have used a simple machine!  Simple machines are found in items that we use everyday.  The principle behind them is so "simple" that no matter how much technology evolves, or how smart people become, you can never replace these concepts.  Take a look at the video below to learn more about simple machines.

  • If you look around the room you are in, how many simple machines can you count?  Please list them.  Think of examples such as light switches and the cap on a water bottle.  The machines are found in everyday items.
